Intulab
Privacy policy
Last updated October 24, 2026
- There are no accounts, no sign-ups, no ads and no cookies.
- Your progress is saved only in your own browser. It is never sent to me.
- I count page views anonymously, so I can see which pages people use. I never see who you are.
- I don't sell or rent data, and I don't use it for ads or profiles. The only outside services involved are the ones that deliver the pages and count visits (section 3).
- The sites are not directed at children under 13.
This policy covers Intulab (jiacode2030.github.io/intulab/) and its course sites: Mechanics Lab, E&M Lab, Chemistry Lab, Calculus Lab, Biology Lab and Precalculus Lab, all under jiacode2030.github.io. They are free study sites made by Jiarui Li, a student, who is responsible for them and for this policy (contact details are in section 10).
1. What stays on your device
The sites save your study progress in your browser's local storage, so it is still there next time. This data stays on your device. It is never sent to me or anyone else.
| Site | Keys start with | What is saved |
|---|---|---|
| Mechanics Lab | kin- | Modules marked done, the last module you opened, solved practice problems, your review queue, FRQ checklists, theme choice, and (Chemistry, Calculus, Biology, Precalculus) an exam date you set, and (Calculus) your AB or BC choice |
| E&M Lab | eml- | |
| Chemistry Lab | chem- | |
| Calculus Lab | calc- | |
| Biology Lab | bio- | |
| Precalculus Lab | prec- | |
| Intulab (this page) | hub- | Your theme choice. The landing page also reads the course keys above to show your progress and your last module, but never changes or sends them. |
This is stored only because you use the site, to give you the progress and settings you asked for, so it needs no cookie banner. There are no cookies. To delete it, clear this site's data in your browser settings. Using a private window means nothing is kept after you close it.
If you install the Intulab app, your device also keeps a copy of the pages so they open offline. This copy is just the sites themselves, not anything about you. On iPhone and iPad, the app keeps its own saved progress, separate from Safari. To remove everything, delete the app from your home screen and clear the site's data.
2. Anonymous page-view counts
I use GoatCounter, a privacy-friendly counter, to see how many times each page is viewed. For each view it records:
- the page (for example
/physics-em/gauss) and the page or site that linked to it - general browser, operating system and screen-size information
- an approximate country or region
GoatCounter does not use cookies and does not store your IP address. It does not build a profile of you or follow you to other websites. I can only see totals, such as "120 views of the Gauss's law page this week". I rely on my legitimate interest in knowing which pages are used so I can improve them. GoatCounter keeps these totals for as long as the counter runs, and they can't be traced back to you. The landing page also shows the running total of visits, which your browser reads from GoatCounter (not when Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control is on). On the course sites, each module you open counts as its own page view. On this landing page, opening a course card is counted the same way.
If your browser sends a Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control signal, the sites don't load the counter at all. Ad blockers usually block it too, and the sites work the same either way.
3. Services that deliver the pages
Like any website, these pages are delivered by other companies. Your browser connects to them, which shares your IP address and basic browser details with them:
- GitHub Pages hosts the sites. See the GitHub Privacy Statement.
- Fonts are served from the sites themselves, so no font company sees your visit.
- GoatCounter, as described above.
4. Reporting an issue
"Report an issue" opens a pre-filled form on GitHub, in the public intulab-feedback repository. Nothing is sent until you press submit there. You need a GitHub account, and your report and username are public. Please don't include your real name, school, email or anything else personal. The pre-filled text only contains the course, the page and the site version, and, if you report a practice problem, the problem and its generated answer. Whatever else you type is up to you.
5. Links to other sites
The sites link to other websites, such as College Board's AP Central, GitHub, LinkedIn and Instagram. Those sites have their own privacy policies, which apply once you visit them.
6. Children and students
The sites are made for high school and college students studying for AP exams. They don't ask for, and are not designed to collect, personal information from anyone, including children under 13, and are not directed at children under 13. If you think personal information was posted in a report, tell me and I'll remove it.
7. Your choices and rights
- Clear your browser's site data at any time to delete your saved progress.
- Turn on Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control, or use a content blocker, to stop page-view counting.
- Ask me to delete a report you filed, or anything else, using the contact options below.
Where you live. The sites are free, run by one person, and open to anyone. The only personal data involved is what your browser shares to load a page (such as your IP address), which GitHub and GoatCounter handle as described above. I don't sell personal information or share it for advertising, and I don't build profiles. Depending on where you live (for example the EU, the UK or California), you may have rights over personal data, such as access, deletion and objecting to its use, and you can complain to your local data protection authority. Because I hold no data that identifies you, there is usually nothing for me to look up, but contact me and I'll help where I can.
8. Changes
If this policy changes, I'll update this page and the "Last updated" date at the top.
9. Contact
Open an issue in intulab-feedback, or send a private message on LinkedIn.
